Teletoon was launched on October 1, 1997. Please note that you may link out to other sites that we don’t control. Teletoon (mostly stylized as TELEToON) is a Canadian English language specialty channel owned by Teletoon Canada, Inc., a subsidiary of Corus Entertainment.Its name is a portmanteau of "television" and "cartoon".The channel primarily broadcasts various animated series, including both original and imported content, aimed at children and younger teenagers. It's new slogan will be "The New Animation Station". In 2000, Western International Communications (who owned a stake of Télétoon through the Family Channel alongside Astral Media) sold its stake of Télétoon to Corus Entertainment. Teletoon will rebrand some in early 2021 with a new logo and on-screen graphics. Learn more. On March 4, 2013, Corus Entertainment announced that it would acquire Astral Media's 50% ownership interest in Teletoon Canada (owner of Teletoon, Télétoon, Many of the shows broadcast on Télétoon are those shown on its English-language counterpart dubbed into French.
