This part of the story opens the mind of the public and allows themselves to connect and get into the picture. Ugh.. Contrary to the previous characters, the character of Raffe came only from pure fantasy, but a combination of some real-life and some ideal traits. The author can write characters really well and the plot just got me attached to the book so quickly. Because after the angels came to destroy the modern world there are no rules. I loved the main character, Penryn, because she's the epitome of a strong female character. Apart from that, Susan Ee is also a short story writer with some of them published in publications like Realms of Fantasy and the Dragons and the Stars. It's such a shame because there was potential here, especially for the characters of the mother-daughter-sister trio who could have been developed further. Well, no. Penryn’s family hid behind the truck when her sister Paige’s voice caught the attention of the angels. Personally, I'm moving on to Malazan after this... O.oThis was a fast action filled read but I just don't get the current trend for wedding vast amounts of brutal violence with teenage girl/ancient and powerful being love stories.
