It show how one family is impacted by the onset of their oldest daughter, Nicole, who is a college student. It was wonderful to see Valerie Harper outside of the usual funny and sparkling persona of Rhoda Morgenstern. In addition to losing her unborn child, Leola is severely disfigured by the incident. I thought the story was done very well; it was very realistic, even down to the character not wanting to take her meds. The script was informative without being condescending.

I highly recommend this movie. it is either overlooked and many times it goes untreated until ther is a serious accident that could lead to injury, suicide or many other tragic accidents. When Nicole begins to act strangely, her aberrant behavior baffles and shocks her family and friends, who haven't a clue. Also the supporting characters showed how it affects the whole family not just the individual. Starring :Nancy Mckeon, Valerie Harper. Nancy McKeon did a wonderful job in the leading role of a young woman struggling to cope with mental illness. This is a true that we can't have everything and we should be thankful for what we do have.
