In fact, I'm positive that if this has been made nine years ago, it would have been my best tonic for surviving the first few months of a new baby. Very well written, directed and acted very funny series. After I had finished this series on Netflix, I did watch "Working Moms" which seemed to be Canada's try on a similar story line, but compared to "The Let Down" they really missed the mark on theirs. It is refreshing to come across something like this, nothing is dolled up, it speaks to the human in us all. A struggling first-time mom and her quarrels with adjusting to a life that is not her own anymore … sound familiar? Or of just having had a baby and dealing with everything that comes with that like mothers' groups and the fact everyone has an opinion on every aspect of parenting. Honestly, there were very few funny moments and a whole lot of what looked like a woman on the brink of insanity who hates every single aspect of being a mother. Most series and movies make things unrealistically perfect, I enjoyed how raw and honest this show is, relatable and real.
