Will the 30 y.o. And yes, i realise they were characters in a film narrative, but i think i would have preferred the company of the wonderful and beautiful horses to any of the men portrayed. I loved this movie. I felt I was freezing just watching the Spanish speaking guy shivering in the night, and remembered our Icelandic guide telling us, if you go out to see the northern lights, wear everything you packed in your suitcase. There he meets an old friend from his childhood, Stella.
The focus upon the faces and eyes of the horses put me in mind of Vacas (1992) by Julio Medem and there's even a wandering Spaniard in the valley who in one grisly scene gets caught in a blizzard and must take desperate measures to survive. Please try againSorry, we failed to record your vote.

One day he has an accident that blurs the border between the man and the beast within. It has other sensibilities than a lot of viewers here, including me, probably don't understand, and you have to be from Iceland to completely get the humor/satire. A beautifully shot film of horses and Iceland (and people as well). original and quieky, but not for the fainthearted

21 of 27 people found this review helpful. It doesn't spoon feed you and there is little dialogue, and, along with the gorgeous scenery, is a very elegant movie. This cannot end well. Reviewed in the United Kingdom on December 27, 2014 from the horse's perspective. This cannot end well.
But show horses depicting same and oh my, we are SO offended! The wonderful Icelandic Ponies are the rear stars here. A country romance about the human streak in the horse and the horse in the human. This film may be a good-natured tongue-in-cheek spoof on Icelanders and how they love their Icy horses, almost along the lines of "Spinal Tap" or "The Big Chill" or the Swedish film "The 100-Year-Old Man Who Climbed Out the Window and Disappeared".
