All this, from a brilliantly intuitive app that helps me find what I want and doesn’t bother me with stuff I don’t. STV has announced the availability of STV Player for Samsung Smart TV. your password now. Did a bit of digging on this.
I'm connected to Virgin media for my internet via cable modem and TV feed via VM box. However the widget seems to have disappeared off the list.

Can't wait for the day when Youview get rid of the dreaded darkened banner when using fast forward/rewind recordings. It has ITV player, BBC player etc.

Hopefully you are able to sort your problem. Some viewers may be seeing a false geo blocking message when trying to watch programmes on their Sony Smart TV. I've also searched the Samsung app store and STV Player app isn't found anywhere.
Launch the STV Player App and go to the Watch Live stream, the AirPlay icon should be shown at the top of the playback bar.
I haven't tried All4 but I assume it also comes through Youview so would likely have the same problem. Binge on Box Sets and access exclusive shows and dramas not shown on STV and only available here on STV Player.
Available only in Scotland, viewers can access the STV Player via the YouView Players page. Scroll down to 'Settings' 3. Most popular and reliable offering options of playing media through USb stick, shared folder on laptop or through cloud is VLC media player. Get this in your life Scotland!I think this app is really good. I've set my region etc to Central Scotland, but the app isn't available.
The STV player is now available for the first time on all Sony Android TVs. I have Netflix, iPlayer and Amazon Prime all installed on on the TV and working fine, direct from the net via associated apps and bypassing the VM box as it allows me 4k access where available. Catch up on your favourite STV shows form the last 30 days.
Supports wide range of media file formats like .mp4, and .dat I puposely didn,t record a serial I was unable to see at the time of broadcasting confident that I could watch it on catch up at a time convenient to me. I used to be able to get ITV player on my Sony bravia KDL-26EX553.

A bit of a pain. Not sure if this helps you but I have been watching ITVplayer on the web app on my LG TV.
I should have done this months ago...amazing box sets, great catch up TV options and access to Scotland’s number one network! Click on the ‘Join STV/Sign in’ button.
When I select "cable" for my TV source (though why that matters when I'm trying to run via net streaming us unclear) the app then goes through the process of trying to find channels on the antenna broadcast service, which I am not using as my broadcast service comes via the cable box, fails to find any channels and loops back to the start, ad infinitum. - Industry 'politics' are largely to blame! postcode and select your marketing preference
Does pretty much what it says on the tin. Find out more about the STV Player here. Scotland 'technically' doesn't get ITV; It's all a bit complex and irrelevant to most people - But STV (Scottish Television) sits 'outside' the ITV framework.

This is 2019 and here we are with the very best Sony Bravia Smart TV apps with detailed reviews on available apps free to download on your Smart TV. There's some info on the STV Player app on their site here, where it says it's available for 2013-2017 Samsung Smart TV's. Go to 'System Apps' 5.
