Season 1 Review: “Hightown” is an uneven mash-up of incongruous themes, a veritable grab bag of provocations that may have felt edgy 20 years ago. there was a great deal of sex and profanity, but it was in context and thus had gravitas. After 3 episodes I give a rating of 8/10. Great show so far judging, again, by only watching 1st ep.

Current TV Shows The unexpected friendship that sparks between Osito and Junior makes those supporting characters the show's least archetypal, especially as the career criminal imparts to his jumpy new recruit how to make peace with the violence they're ordered to inflict doesn't ever reach full beach-noir status, but it does grow organically darker and more heartbreaking as the season progresses. Maybe it's because too many of you only watched one episode (if that) but I found even the pilot well done. “Hightown,” a new drama series on Starz, takes place in Provincetown — the gay mecca and artists’ enclave on the tip of Cape Cod. She's immediately at odds with Sergeant Ray Abruzzo, an abrasive but effective member of the Cape Cod Interagency Narcotics Unit. It is a reflection of life, esp in the kind of places where the episode is set so the different approaches are part of the story.
